Job Overview

 

Bel Royal School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to join our wonderful team, supporting children with complex additional needs as the lead teacher of our Additional Resource Provision. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to making a real difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs.

• Plan, deliver, and adapt engaging provision that meet the individual needs of children with complex additional needs.

• Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to learning.

• Use a range of strategies, including assistive technology and sensory approaches, to support communication and engagement.

• Monitor and assess pupil progress, setting appropriate goals and interventions.

• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.

• Collaborate with multi-agency teams to provide tailored support for each child.

• Promote positive behaviour and social development through structured routines and interventions.

Qualifications

 

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience

 

ESSENTIAL

 

• Experience working with children with complex additional needs (e.g., autism, learning disabilities, sensory impairments, physical disabilities).

• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching and learning.

 

DESIREABLE

 

• Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods.

• Knowledge of relevant safeguarding and SEND legislation.

• Training in positive behaviour support strategies.
