Job Overview
An Electrical Apprentice within the Government of Jersey’s Infrastructure & Environment (I&E) Department plays a hands‑on role supporting the maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems across a wide range of public buildings, facilities, and infrastructure. Working under the guidance of qualified electricians and engineering professionals, the apprentice will learn practical skills in electrical safety, fault‑finding, planned maintenance, and project work while contributing to essential services that support the island’s community.
This role offers structured training, day‑release education, and exposure to real‑world environments such as Sewage Treatment Facilities, Sports Facilities, Energy From Waste Incinerators, public spaces, and other critical island infrastructure. The apprentice will develop technical competence, strong problem‑solving skills, and a solid understanding of electrical regulations and standards relevant to Jersey. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone with a practical mindset, an eagerness to learn, and a commitment to building a long‑term career in the electrical and engineering field.
