Health and Care Jersey are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant General Manager to join our Medical Care Group. This is an exciting opportunity for an operational leader who is passionate about service improvement, performance, quality and workforce development, who wants to help shape the future of healthcare for the Island community. Working closely with the General Manager, Clinical Leads, Lead Nurses and wider multidisciplinary teams, you will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, effective and sustainable services across a portfolio of medical specialties. This is a role where you will influence operational performance, drive improvement programmes and help ensure the highest standards of care for patients.

About the Role

The Medical Care Group provides comprehensive acute, inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic and specialist medical services, encompassing emergency and ambulatory care, medical specialties, cancer and palliative care, pathology and a wide range of clinical investigation and endoscopy services. As Assistant General Manager, you will support the operational leadership of services in Medicine and work in partnership with clinical and nursing colleagues to achieve the Care Group's strategic and operational objectives. You will have responsibility for supporting performance, governance, workforce, financial management and service development across your portfolio, ensuring services are responsive, efficient and focused on delivering excellent patient outcomes. You will be expected to build strong working relationships across Health and Care Jersey and with external stakeholders, supporting a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.   • Significant operational management experience within healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of performance, quality, governance and workforce management.
  • Experience of leading service improvement and change initiatives.

  • Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and service excellence.
