Job Overview

d'Auvergne Primary School is seeking to appoint an exceptional and experienced SENDCO to join our senior leadership team as Assistant Head Teacher. This is a significant leadership role within our inclusive school community and reflects the scale, complexity and importance of SEND provision across the school.

 

Our school includes an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) for pupils with complex cognitive and communication needs, alongside a substantial number of pupils within the mainstream who have Records of Need (RONs) and a wide range of individual learning, social, emotional and communication needs.

 

We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate leader who is committed to ensuring every child can thrive. The successful candidate will be an experienced SEND professional with a strong understanding of inclusive practice, statutory processes and multi-agency working. They will be confident in leading and developing a large team of support staff and able to work strategically as part of the senior leadership team while remaining closely connected to pupils, families and classroom practice.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified and experienced SENDCO with a proven track record of successful SEND leadership
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of inclusive education and effective provision for pupils with complex and additional needs
  • Have experience of leading, managing and developing a large support staff team
  • Be able to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, external agencies and wider professionals
  • Show strong organisational, communication and strategic leadership skills
  • Be passionate about achieving the very best outcomes for all pupils
