Job Overview

To manage all staff and resources of the Parking Control Section to provide effectively managed, maintained and cost effective public parking facilities; to maximise revenue and optimise a safe and effective service to the public and ensure traffic and parking control regulations and laws are effectively enforced. 

 

Manage the day to day operations and office functions associated with running the Parking Control Section, providing 2nd line management support to the Manager. Support the implementation of new initiatives and oversee the maintenance, safety and security of all car park buildings and properties. Assist the Manager in overseeing major capital works and refurbishment projects.

 

Manage, motivate, develop and ensure the effective deployment and performance of Parking Control staff to provide a professional and technically proficient service in line with departmental policy, within budget and promoting team working. 

 

Act as advisor to the section and its customers in all matters relating to Parking Control and ensure the fair and affective delivery and processing of Parking Control enforcement penalties in accordance with the relevant Laws and Orders.  Deal with all appeals ensuring appropriate action is taken, where necessary authorise the cancellation of excess charges

 

Assist in the management and control of the section’s budget, developing both long and short term financial strategies, monitoring capital and revenue income and expenditure to ensure financial targets are met and a competitive value for money service is provided.  Source and procure materials and equipment in a cost effective and timely manner in compliance with financial codes of direction for the commencement of works.  Also plan and communicate future revenue requirements for inclusion in the annual business plan, identifying and developing opportunities to generate income.

 

Assistant Managers will act as the First Aid Appointed Person who are individuals appointed to look after first aid equipment by ensuring the first aid box is stocked with appropriate in date supplies, take charge of calling the emergency services if required and ensure all accidents are reported.
