Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team of Biomedical Science Assistants in the Blood Science Laboratories.
Commencing at CS05, which equates to £34,326.50- £37,969.28 per annum, on completion of internal assessments and the IBMS Certificate of Achievement Part 1 the sucessful candidate will progress to CS06 once fully trained.
The post is full time at 37 hours per week, with weekend work as rostered.
Applicants should have either experience of working in a clinical laboratory or demonstrate having an interest in science.
Biomedical Science Assistants support the scientific team across Clinical Chemistry, Haematology, Specimen Reception and Pathology Reception.
Duties include sorting and processing specimens, data entry, packaging of specimens for off island referral, basic operation of equipment, housekeeping and administration.
Candidates must demonstrate good attention to detail, a mature conscientious attitude and possess good communication and IT skills.
Applicants must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths, English and a science subject.
