Job Overview

 

Engineering and Development is a section within the Operations and Transport directorate of the Government of Jersey’s Infrastructure and Environment department. Engineering and Development deliver interesting and challenging projects for various sections within the department; no one day is the same which makes this role exciting. We are involved in all kinds of projects that deliver essential infrastructure for the island of Jersey. This includes highways, coastal defences, transport, solid waste, public realm and parks, sports facilities, and car parks.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team. Working as a CAD Technician, you will predominantly be involved in the production of engineering drawings and designs for capital engineering projects of varying scale and complexity. Assisting members of the team, you will primarily be required to produce engineering drawings to a high standard through all stages of the project delivery process including design and construction. Depending on experience and qualifications, the successful applicant will be offered a grade within the range of the Government of Jersey’s Civil Service grade CS06 to CS09. Where a grade below CS09 is offered, a progression plan will be put in place which will allow the opportunity for the applicant to progress to CS09.
