Job Overview
Category Officers that demonstrate some, but not all the essential skills, experience and require ments will be a CS08. To reach a CS09 the Category Officer will be given development opportuni ties, on the job shadowing with a senior procurement lead and a detailed training and development progression plan, monitored over an agreed timeframe.
Category Officers who meet the essential skills, experience and requirements of this role will be a CS09. Essential skills and experience include extensive knowledge, experience and background in a procurement or purchasing role, an in-depth knowledge of the Government of Jersey’s commer cial services public finance manual (PFM), and the correct application of the processes that align with the PFM, including commercial tendering, supplier onboarding, new and existing supplier en gagement, and contract and pricing agreement negotiations.
Support the delivery of category specific projects in line with category, procurement and supplier strategies.
