Job Overview

Providing technical support for the provision of engineering services to implement approved capital developments and operational asset maintenance programmes ensuring a safe and effective Island wide physical infrastructure, including highways, sea defences, waste management, surface and foul drainage and traffic and transport improvements to meet the needs of the Island and comply with statutory requirements. 

 

The role will include;

 

  • Assisting Government of Jersey to maintain and improve the; safety, serviceable, and sustainability of the island’s main roads.
  • Supporting Project Managers to deliver highway maintenance and improvement schemes.
  • Monitoring the performance of utility companies and developers working on the public highway.
  • Engagement with the public and stakeholders.
  • Assist implementing project governance procedures and maintaining project controls.
  • Supporting highway inspectors to carry out reactive maintenance activities.
  • Recording and analysing cost and performance data.
  • A mixture of office and site-based work.

 

There will be a preference for the candidate to have:

 

  • A Civil Engineering degree.
  • Experience in using AutoCAD

 

Graduates and technicians will be considered as part of a training progression role.
