Job Overview

Are you a passionate and dedicated pharmacist looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are currently seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team in Jersey. Whether you are newly qualified, have experience in community pharmacy, or come from a hospital pharmacy background with a clinical diploma, we want to hear from you! On-call involvement and participation in the weekend rota are an essential requirement for this role.

Our pharmacists deliver advanced, patient-centred clinical care that drives safe, effective and economical use of medicines across Health and Care Jersey. Working as part of a forward-thinking healthcare system, you’ll contribute directly to improving patient outcomes whether you’re recently qualified, transitioning from community pharmacy, or bringing established hospital experience.

As a Clinical Rotational Pharmacist, you’ll work across multidisciplinary teams, taking ownership of medicines optimisation within your designated clinical area. You will:

  • Deliver specialist clinical pharmacy services to ensure safe, effective and economical use of medicines
  • Support Lead Pharmacists and the Clinical Pharmacy Manager in providing a high-quality, patient-focused service aligned to national standards
  • Conduct medication reviews, reconciliation on admission, and pharmaceutical care planning for discharge
  • Provide expert clinical advice during ward rounds and across healthcare teams
  • Advise on complex prescribing and ensure compliance with best practice and legislation
  • Contribute to formulary decisions and support the Drugs & Therapeutics Committee

Job Purpose

You'll be at the heart of patient care, directly influencing treatment decisions, improving patient safety, and reducing medication related risks across the organisation. Through your specialist clinical expertise, you'll help ensure patients receive the most effective pharmaceutical care with the best possible outcomes and minimal adverse effects. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you'll lead medicines optimisation initiatives and clinical audits, contribute to the development and implementation of local guidelines and policies, and play a key role in developing others by delivering training and sharing knowledge across medical, nursing, and pharmacy teams.

All applicants must be registered Pharmacists with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred clinical care.

We welcome applications from pharmacists at different stages of their clinical career, with appointment and salary determined by qualifications and experience.

Candidates who are working towards, or willing to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice will be appointed at Grade 10, with a salary ranging from £64,466.07 to £71,038.46 per annum.

Candidates who already hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice will be appointed at Grade 11, with a salary ranging from £71,038.46 to £79,133.77 per annum.
