Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to join our friendly and progressive Diabetes and Dietetic Service. This is an exciting post suitable for someone who is passionate about supporting people to improve their health and who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You will work across diabetes services, the wider dietetic team, and may rotate between acute hospital settings and community-based clinics depending on service needs. The role offers excellent variety, professional development, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of people living with diabetes and other nutrition-related conditions.
The sucessful candidate will suport with the following:
- Delivery of dietetic care within the diabetes team and wider dietetic service.
- Assist with patient education, including preparing resources, gathering information, and supporting group and 1:1 sessions.
- Work with Dietitians in both acute and community settings, including nutritional assessments, basic monitoring tasks, and facilitating follow-up plans.
- Participate in the delivery of structured diabetes education programmes (full training provided).
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and contribute to service audits and quality improvement activities.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and colleagues to support safe and person‑centred care.
