Job Overview

This role will be a dual location role working from Jersey General Hospital & Hospital Supplies Five Oaks, 

The post holder will work largely on their own initiative and will only refer to the Deputy Operations Manager in cases where there are queries which cannot be dealt with by themselves.

A full Jersey Driving Licence with Category C as essential.

A knowledge of medical products would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.

Job Purpose

Working in a busy fulfilment team, to supply goods and services that directly contribute to the overall healthcare delivery provided by the Government of Jersey.

To receive deliveries of Medical/Surgical goods, documenting all such transactions. 

To select and pack goods for despatch and deliver to appropriate destinations.

Job Specific Outcomes 1 of 2

1. Pick, pack and process all inventory requisitions, ensuring stock is picked accurately and quality checks are undertaken throughout.

2. Receive and replenish all stock lines through the use of the inventory management system, ensure the stock is receipted correctly and any breakages or discrepancies are reported to the purchasing team and stores supervisor.

3. Transport and collect supplies, laundry and other services to various locations across the island, and provide a logistical function in line with the service requirements of the Health and community services department.

4. Answer phone’s and provide a solution to customer queries, meet face to face with customers both onsite at the stores hub and when delivering island wide.

5. Adhere to a high standard of hygiene, security and health and safety within the working environment at all times.

6. Use mechanical aids and equipment including forklifts and pump trucks to undertake the stock replenishment processes.

Qualifications

A good level of Education is required.

Knowledge

Knowledge of medical terminology and previous experience of computerised stock control would be an advantage but not essential.

Technical Work Based Skills

A clean a driving licence is essential including Category C.

Experience on a forklift would be an advantage, however not essential as full training will be provided.

General skills / attributes

Physical Effort

What level of physical effort (e.g. normal office work, lifting, pushing, pulling, applying force etc.) The role requires the post holder to undertake a certain amount of manual lifting, the use of manual lifting aids is provided to minimise this where possible.

Good Numeracy and literacy skills required to undertake daily tasks of stock replenishment and distribution.

Experience

Experience in a similar position would be preferred however not essential as full training will be provided.
