Job Overview

We are seeking a full time and part time (24.4 hours) motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our busy Surgical Ward. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient-focused, hardworking, and keen to be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey. The ward is fast-paced and varied, caring for patients pre- and post-operatively across a range of surgical specialities.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to patients with dignity and respect
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including mobility, hygiene and nutrition
  • Monitor and record vital signs
  • Support nurses and the wider MDT in delivering safe, effective care
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised clinical environment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues

Staff working at this level may work under the general direction of trained staff and may have immediate access to advice and guidance from trained staff within the area.
