Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our Central Accommodation Services team as an Accommodation Housekeeping Assistant. This full-time, permanent role (38 hours per week) is ideal for someone with a background in hospitality, healthcare, or hotel services who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.

As part of a small, supportive team, you will play a key role in preparing staff accommodation units for occupation, ensuring communal areas are clean and welcoming, checking and upkeeping unit inventories. The role requires flexibility, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently across various locations on the island—own transport is essential and mileage remuneration is available.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, hotel, or healthcare settings
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic IT and keyboard proficiency
  • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle

Job Purpose

The postholder shall be required to be aware of and always maintain confidentiality, which is of the highest importance. Protective clothing is provided and must be worn at all times when on duty.

 

The post holder shall be required to work alone within units of staff accommodation travelling to different areas of the island for which own transport is required and for which remuneration will be available if used during the work. 

 

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION  

  • Previous experience in a hospitality / hotel or healthcare provider setting
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Basic keyboard skills/ IT essential
  • Car driver - essential 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Provide an efficient and regular cleaning service to staff accommodation units including communal areas on a regular basis where required subject to requests from management.

 

  1. Preparation of beds and rooms for occupation and sorting linen where required.
