Job Overview

Our Lead Nurse for Safer Staffing will provide strategic leadership for nursing and midwifery workforce planning across Health & Care Jersey, ensuring staffing decisions are evidence-based, aligned to patient need and support the delivery of safe, high-quality and sustainable care.

In this influential role, you will lead the organisation's safer staffing agenda, acting as the professional lead for workforce assurance, nursing establishment reviews, skill mix optimisation, workforce productivity and the Safer Nursing Care Tool (SNCT) programme. Working closely with clinical, operational, workforce, finance and quality leaders, you will use workforce, acuity and quality data to shape staffing models, support service transformation and provide assurance that the right people are in the right place at the right time.

This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on patient safety, staff wellbeing and service sustainability while influencing workforce decisions at a strategic level. You'll take pride in helping shape the future of healthcare across Jersey, working across a diverse range of services and professional groups to deliver meaningful change. In return, you'll join a collaborative and forward thinking organisation that values professional leadership, innovation and support for its people.

This role requires an experienced nursing leader who can use workforce, quality and operational data to influence decision making, drive safer staffing practices and deliver meaningful improvements for patients, families and colleagues.

If you are passionate about delivering safe care through effective workforce planning and want to help shape the future of nursing and midwifery services in Jersey, we would welcome your application.

Please note, the interviews are being held on the 2nd of October.

For an informal discussion please contact Chief Nurse Tabetha Darmon at T.Darmon@health.gov.je or Deputy Chief Nurse Jessie Marshall at J.Marshall2@health.gov.je.
