Job Purpose

We are seeking an organised and proactive Medical Secretary to provide administrative support to our team of doctors within a busy Child and Adolescent Service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing clinic appointments, preparing and typing correspondence, maintaining accurate patient records, handling telephone enquiries, and supporting the day-to-day administrative needs of the medical team. You will work closely with clinicians, young people, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery of high-quality care.

Key requirements:

  • Previous secretarial or administrative experience, ideally within a healthcare setting
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Strong typing and IT skills
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and maintain confidentiality
  • A professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach
