Job Overview
Digital Services are looking for a Network Engineer to join our specialist Network Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver, support and develop the critical network infrastructure that enables essential public services across Jersey.
Working within a team of network specialists, you'll play an important role in supporting and maintaining the technologies that keep our organisation connected. From managing data and voice networks to supporting video conferencing technologies and communications services, you'll help ensure that our infrastructure remains secure, resilient and available to meet the needs of colleagues, customers and islanders.
This is a hands-on technical role where you'll contribute to the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of a complex network environment. You'll help maintain and develop network infrastructure, support the delivery of technical changes and projects, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to ensuring the performance and availability of critical services. Working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, you'll gain exposure to a diverse range of networking technologies while helping to deliver reliable and secure services across the organisation.
We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for networking technology who enjoys solving technical challenges and delivering excellent customer service. You'll bring a proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality services in a fast-paced operational environment.
You'll be comfortable working across a broad range of networking technologies, with exposure to routing, switching, wireless networking, IP telephony and firewall technologies. Experience of supporting enterprise network environments, communications infrastructure and connectivity services will be valuable, along with an appreciation of the importance of security, resilience and service availability.
We're looking for someone who is analytical in their approach and enjoys learning and developing their technical expertise. You'll be an effective communicator, capable of building strong working relationships with colleagues, customers and stakeholders, while working collaboratively within a supportive technical team. Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and a positive, customer-focused attitude will be key to your success.
In return, you'll join a skilled and welcoming team responsible for maintaining and developing the network services that underpin critical government operations. You'll have the opportunity to work with modern networking technologies, contribute to important infrastructure projects and develop your expertise across a wide range of network and communications services.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their career in network engineering. We'll support your professional growth through mentoring, knowledge sharing, hands-on experience and opportunities to expand your technical skills across enterprise networking, communications and infrastructure technologies.
Join us and be part of a team that delivers secure, resilient and reliable network services that support vital public services across Jersey. We'll provide the support and opportunities you need to grow your career and develop your expertise in modern network engineering.
