Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and organised Outpatients Appointments Clerk to join our team. This role involves booking and rescheduling outpatient appointments, answering and making telephone calls to patients and clinical staff, processing referrals, arranging patient transport, and providing reception desks cover as needed. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Book, reschedule, and cancel outpatient appointments as required

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and make outgoing calls to patients and departments

  • Process incoming referrals accurately and in a timely manner

  • Arrange patient transport according to eligibility and clinical need

  • Maintain accurate patient records and appointment systems

  • Cover outpatient reception desks, greeting and checking in patients

  • Provide excellent customer service and support to patients and healthcare staff

Requirements:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure

  • Experience in a similar administrative or healthcare setting is desirable

  • Proficient in using computer systems and databases
