Job Overview
The Infrastructure and Environment Head Office Team is recruiting for a PA to Chief Officer / Admin Support role, requiring a strong background in PA / secretarial work, business administration and project support, to work within a small, dynamic and supportive team.
As PA to our Chief Officer for I&E you will play a critical role in managing a complex and dynamic calendar of priorities and meetings, handling confidential communication, problem-solving and acting as a trusted partner. You will be providing coordination and administrative support to governance boards and working groups, organise meetings and manage events, prepare briefings and presentations for internal and external use. You will be required to liaise with senior stakeholders and handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion. A key requirement for the role is anticipating needs and acting with initiative to ensure smooth operations.
Additionally, the role is responsible for providing support to the wider Head Office Team and offers opportunities for diversity and involvement with interesting workstreams and projects covering a varied remit from Learning and Development and Business Change to Business Continuity, Communications and more.
Based at the Government office at Union St, the role is extremely interesting, involving internal colleagues and external customer contacts, so proven experience in providing a professional and courteous customer service at all levels is essential.
Whilst the job description for this post is generic in nature and title (Technical Support Officer grade 7), covering a number of roles at this level of responsibility, qualifications, and experience, this unique vacancy is essentially one of secretarial, business administration and project management support. It is an opportunity to gain insight into executive-level leadership and contribute meaningfully to strategic priorities.
This role is being advertised on a part-time basis at 18.5h per week. Flexible working requests are welcome and would be considered in line with Government policy.

Job Purpose
Providing professional and comprehensive technical support services to the business, initiating, managing and reviewing work processes and systems to enable the business functions of the
section to be carried out efficiently and effectively.
Technical Support Officer role is a link grade between grades 7 and 8. Newly appointed Technical Support Officers will be a grade 7.
Grade 8 Technical Support Officers will have a minimum of 3 years business support experience working in a specialism as relevant to the service that the role is a part of and have business support experience in more than one technical specialism. Grade 8 Technical Support Officers will generally work with specialist business applications and software of a greater level of complexity involving data/trends analysis and manipulation/recording of drawing (e.g. CAD) and / or have direct line management responsibilities.
Grade 8 Technical Support Officers will also typically be responsible for the procurement of goods and services of a substantial value (i.e. between £250k - £1.8m p.a.) and/or be responsible for the security and
confidentiality of financial and asset maintenance information, in respect of which, failure to comply with statutory obligations would pose a significant cost and reputational risk to the
Government.
