Job Overview
The Practice Development Nurse for Neonates and Paediatrics is a registered nurse with specialist knowledge and experience in caring for infants, children, and young people. The post holder will lead and support practice development initiatives across neonatal and paediatric services to promote the continuous improvement of patient care, safety, and experience.
They will be responsible for ensuring that clinical practice within both Neonatal and Paediatric areas is evidence-based, up to date, and aligned with local and national standards, research, and audit outcomes. The role will involve leading the development, coordination, and delivery of education and training programmes to enhance the skills and competence of qualified and unqualified nursing staff, as well as supporting multi-professional learning where appropriate.
The post holder will play a key role in supporting staff through induction, preceptorship, and ongoing professional development, fostering a positive learning culture and encouraging reflective, evidence-informed practice across both specialties.
