Job Overview

The Judicial Greffe is recruiting for a Proceedings Officer to work primarily in the Royal Court. This role is key to the delivery of justice in Jersey. You will attend sittings of the Court as Greffier (Clerk of the Royal Court) and provide administrative and judicial support to the Courts.

Proceedings Officers assist senior managers of the Judicial Greffe in providing administrative and judicial support to the Courts (Royal Court of Jersey, Court of Appeal, Magistrate’s Court, Family Court) and in advising the legal profession, other Government departments and members of the public on legal procedure. This post will primarily be supporting the Royal Court.

This is a linked grade role spanning two grades. Individuals will normally be appointed to the lower grade and may progress to the higher grade following a formal assessment against the Court Service's broad banding progression criteria for the role. Progression is based on demonstrated performance, development and the consistent application of the knowledge, skills, behaviours and responsibilities required at the higher grade and is not automatic or based solely on length of service.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Stephanie Peat.
