Job Purpose
This is a pivotal role in small team reporting into the Chief Economic Advisor and delivering sustainable economic programmes that will shape the Island’s future economy to 2040 and beyond. To support the design, governance and delivery of the Future Economy Programme and related priority policies and projects.
The types of work areas could include the Offshore Windfarm, international connectivity, the Enabling Business Programme, and economic updates for the public. More information about the Future Economy Programme (FEP) can be found on Gov.je.
Working with the support of other FEP team members, the role holder will be expected to: Produce written documents and presentations (using Microsoft tools) such as policy recommendations, programme reports, and briefings papers on a range of economic projects related to the FEP.
Be responsible for communication and dissemination of the FEP updates in a suitable format for presentation to a wide variety of audiences, including departmental senior management and project boards. Draft written documents for FOI requests, scrutiny panels, and Ministerial engagements.
Work collaboratively with other members of the directorate, department and Government by assisting with other ad hoc projects or change initiatives and at times of exceptional pressure / workload. Work collaboratively as part of Team Jersey, contributing to a learning culture focused upon improvement and high performance.
Fulfil the secretariat function for the FEP. This will include facilitating the operation of the programme; administer meetings, including preparing and distributing agendas and other documentation; booking meeting rooms/online video conferencing; inviting and monitoring attendees; producing minutes and action logs (sometimes of a technical or highly sensitive nature), and ensuring communications are timely and accurate. This will ensure meetings are productive and efficient, providing value for money in the use of resources and maintaining the department’s high standards.

Qualifications
Essential.
Educated to degree level in subjects with a high degree of analytical or deliberative content, or demonstrate such a level of equivalent qualifications and experience.
Desirable.
Holds a recognised programme, projector change management qualification
Experience
Practical experience and knowledge of using quality/process improvement methodologies.
Experience of project management and/or programme administration.
Experience of working with senior stakeholders (internal and external) to deliver strategic goals
Desirable - Experience of delivery management in a similar organisation (successful delivery from initial design to completion)
