Jersey Talking Therapies (JTT) are passionate about providing psychological therapies to the population of Jersey and it is an exciting time to join our team as a Trainee High Intensity Cognitive Behaviour Therapist.
Jersey Talking Therapies (JTT) is a busy and expanding service which provides NICE compliant evidence based psychological interventions using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other approved therapies. We deliver therapy in person, over the phone, in groups and using digital therapy options.
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and skilled individuals who will join our team as a Trainee High Intensity CBT therapist. The role will require you to undertake an intensive one year PGDip Psychological Therapies Practice (High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) at the University of Exeter. You will need to attend university as required, which will include up to nine blocks of teaching of up to four days. Most teaching will be two days per week, with the rest of your working week spent providing high intensity CBT assessment and CBT interventions in accordance with NICE guidance. You will receive clinical supervision in the workplace and University to develop your clinical skills.
To be eligible you will have an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a discipline connected to mental health (eg: psychology, neuroscience or a BABCP recognised core professional qualification) or evidence of the ability to study at third year of undergraduate degree (level 6).
Applicants without a recognised core professional training or qualification will be required to submit a completed Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) Portfolio at interview. Please note that PWPs cannot be recruited to HI posts or as HI CBT trainees until 2 years post qualification. These 2 years of practice commence only at the date of confirmation of the full PWP qualification by the University, not at the end of the teaching timetable. This standard is monitored nationally by the BABCP.
