Job Overview

 

 

The Jersey Customs & Immigration Service are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy office-based Goods Control team.

The successful applicant will be involved in the provision of an efficient and effective customer service across a number of Customs and Excise workstreams.

They will ensure the relevant Customs and Excise revenues are collected on imported goods such as alcohol, tobacco, fuel, vape liquid and other goods.

They will also be required to ensure all freight imported and exported to/from the Island meets the requirements of both local and international legislation and Customs Union obligations.

The successful applicant will receive training to be able to give technical advice by phone, email or in person.

Once trained they can expect to be dealing with and providing advice to members of the public, businesses, freight operators and other Government departments.

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent is required, with education to A level preferred.

The role is subject to vetting / background checks before appointment is confirmed.
