Job Overview - Senior Systems Technician Platform & Cloud
Join our team of technical specialists playing a key role in delivering resilient, secure, and high-performing IT infrastructure and cloud services. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management, support, and continuous improvement of our on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our systems are robust, secure, and aligned with our strategic goals and IT policies.
Working with a wide range of technologies, from enterprise voice and data platforms to cloud services and backup solutions, your expertise will help us maintain high availability, manage risk, and deliver seamless services to our colleagues and the wider community.
We need someone who has a solid track record of working in multi-disciplinary IT ops environments, with hands-on experience in managing and maintaining both cloud and on-prem infrastructure. Your knowledge of complex IT architectures, enterprise voice and data platforms, and hybrid environments will be key to your success in this role, where no two days are the same.
We’re looking for someone who can confidently plan, implement, and support infrastructure solutions, ensuring they are secure, resilient, and aligned with organisational standards. You’ll be comfortable using monitoring tools, managing backups and disaster recovery processes, and applying automation and scripting to streamline operations. You'll need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be a clear communicator, and be able to explain technical concepts to a wide range of audiences. You must be a collaborative team player who can contribute positively to team culture.

Through the IT Service Management workstream of our IT Infrastructure Improvement Programme, we're making improvements to our IT services, systems and infrastructure. To ensure that these changes can be embedded successfully, we're increasing the size of our teams on a temporary basis (until 31 Dec 2027), this contract length offers long-term career development and the opportunity to grow your expertise in a supportive and evolving digital environment.
