Job Purpose
To manage and deliver a range of youth work projects within one of the services community, focused or targeted delivery areas.
Coordinating and providing a range of youth work oppertunities for young people that will be aged between 8-25 yeards old depending on the purpose and delivery type of project.
To promote the seasonal and social, development needs of young people in a varitety of settings which could include street-based work, youth centres, community settings and schools.

Job Specific Outcomes
To ensure the projects youth work delivery is relevant to the purpose of the project, needs of young people and is consistent with the youth service outcomes framework.
To establish and maintain relationships and networks with relevant stakeholders and contacts within the local community.
To provide clear and accurate written reports and general information to the principal youth officer / or designate, advisory committee and other external agencies as necessary which include business plans and formal presentations.
To deliver, assess and moderate qualiifications of young people.
To manage resources allocated to the project ensuring that they are effectively utilised and administered this could include buildings, fittings vehicles, equipment.
To promote the service by maintaing the range of communication and promotional mediums.
To take responsibility for own personal and continuing professional development.
Qualifications
A JNC recognised degree in youth and community studies.
A valid first aid at work qualification.
Knowledge
Hold valid safeguarding partnership board certificates, or equivalent in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults at minimem level 3
Awareness and understanding of current legislation in relation to young people and employees, eg. Health and saftey laws.
Knowledge of diverse range of oppertunities that can be offered to young people as part of the youth work curriculum.
Technical Work Based Skills
A working knowledge of IT packages (Microsoft Office, Excell, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
The ability to carry out the riskaessemnts.
A Valid full driving licence
General skills / attributes
use own initiative to problem-solve negotiation and influencing skills.
Confident decision-maker with organisational and time management skills.
Ability to develop innovative approaches to change and service delivery.
Ability to lead, motivate and manage teams to facilitate achievement of high delivery and performance and manage poor behaviour with strong relationship building skills.
Ability to present effectivly and confidently, both verbally and in writing.
Experience
3 years post-qualification experience
Be able to manage challenging behaviour from young people, parents and general public and have a wide range of skills and strategies in this area.
Exceptionally good levels of problem solving skills are required in order to be able to adapt to a diverse range of situations in different working enviroments such as street based work, project based work, mobile projects, work with young offenders youth work in scholls, ect.
Experience in the management of financial and pysical resources.
