Job Overview

Our Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy Service plays a key role in shaping rehabilitation for patients across acute, frailty and long‑term condition pathways.

This is an opportunity to step into a specialist role where your clinical expertise, judgement and autonomy are truly valued. You’ll work within a collaborative, forward thinking multi‑disciplinary environment that encourages development, innovation and shared learning.

As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will independently assess, formulate and deliver tailored interventions for adults with a spectrum of cardiorespiratory and frailty presentations including high complexity cases. You will also support patients with a range of other conditions such as orthopaedic, neurological, musculoskeletal and rheumatology‑related presentations, as well as those requiring palliative‑focused rehabilitation support.

You’ll be a key contributor to the daily running of the service, providing guidance to junior colleagues, coordinating caseloads, and ensuring seamless patient flow through the cardiorespiratory pathway. Your work will influence how rehabilitation is delivered across the acute hospital setting, enhancing continuity and quality of care.

A central part of your role will include:

  • Delivering specialist therapy programmes using advanced clinical reasoning and outcome measures
  • Providing expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues across HCS and the wider community
  • Supporting and developing junior therapists, rotational staff and Rehabilitation Assistants
  • Contributing to service planning, audit activity and evidence‑based improvements
  • Participating in weekly in‑service training and CPD initiatives
  • Working closely with the MDT to ensure coordinated, holistic treatment plans
  • Occasionally deputising for senior staff and supporting day‑to‑day operational decisions
  • Participating in the physiotherapy on‑call rota (by agreement)

You’ll be someone who thrives in complex clinical environments, brings clarity and confidence to patient centred decision making, and enjoys working collaboratively across professional boundaries. You’ll also be committed to continuous development both for yourself and for the colleagues you support.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Degree in Physiotherapy or a Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) accredited Masters
  • Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) membership
  • Registration as a Physiotherapist with:
    • The Health Professions Council (HCPC)
    • Jersey Care Commission
  • A minimum of 2 years' clinical experience within the relevant specialist area
