Job Purpose

To assist with the efficient stock management of all consumables across Health & Care Jersey. This includes stock replenishment; stock rotation and bi-annual stock takes for consumables across all care groups. Continually review processes and product ranges to ensure best outcomes, value and quality for delivering patient care. 

Be the dedicated stock management lead for one of the care groups (Medicine, WACS, and Surgical)) within the care group. Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of the department’s specialist stock and equipment.

Support the ordering and delivery of specialist consumables and equipment, as well ensuring that all necessary requirements have been ordered, delivered and processed for the department. To support the ongoing maintenance of the asset, register for the care groups and organise all equipment requirements for the safe delivery of patient care within H&CJ.

Job Specific Outcomes 1 of 2

  1. Ensure the necessary consumables are available across all departments for patient care, emergency procedures and diagnostics. Liaising with the Hospital Supplies department regarding consumables and the use of the Connect Ariba purchasing system for stock and non-stock ordering.
  2. Ensure accurate data collection of all information concerning equipment, consumables and the asset register to support the capital replacement programme, stock takes and audits. 
  3.  Assist with the reconciliation of invoices for all care groups relating to orders placed through Connect Ariba. Ensure all charges and freight are captured accurately.
  4. To collaborate with clinical staff regarding patient specific equipment required. Working closely with clinical staff and Hospital Supplies in identifying and sourcing new equipment.
  5. Assist with activity between all care groups and supply chains regarding instrument repairs and purchasing and equipment replacement. Working closely with clinical staff in identifying and sourcing new equipment.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to manage and communicate with excellent interpersonal skills and ensure all information is shared with Clinical staff, and senior management.
  7. Communicates directly with UK companies regarding consumables and equipment and equipment replacement. 

Qualifications

Educated to GCSE Maths and English & a good level of IT skills including Excel.

A high level of IT skills including Excel.

A good understanding of stock control and stock ordering processes. 

Good communication skills 

Knowledge

Practical knowledge of how to independently perform a wide range of tasks.

A good understanding of stock control and stock ordering processes/management.

Knowledge of stock management systems i.e Connect Ariba. 

Knowledge of medical terminology

Technical Work Based Skills

Able to demonstrate a range of information technology skills i.e. an ability to effectively use IT equipment and role critical software

General skills / attributes
