Lead Key Worker Learning Support

 

25 hours per week. Term Time only (additional flexible working hours are available for this post.) 

 

Learning Support Department, Highlands College.

 

As the main Further Education College in Jersey, our mission is to equip young people with the skills they need to be successful in education and in the world of work.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful Learning Support Department as a lead key worker, assisting students with a diverse range of learning difficulties and disabilities to be successful on their vocational education programme and to develop their literacy, numeracy and study skills.

 

This role offers candidates an opportunity to build on knowledge and experience in this area and to work with a great team of very skilled and dedicated Learning Support Staff.

 

The team regularly engages in CPD and wellbeing activities, with lots of opportunities provided to share best practice within and beyond the team.

 

We are looking for someone who;

 

  • Is a great communicator and proactive.
  • A team player.
  • Has great enthusiasm to enable all students to achieve their very best.
  • Can encourage and motivate learning.
  • Can engage learners with lesson content and outcomes.
  • Has awareness and empathy for how learning difficulties and disabilities can impact on learning and the self-esteem of learners.

Experience is desirable, however the ability to establish an effective and meaningful rapport with learners is key.
