Job Overview

This is a rewarding and purpose-driven leadership opportunity for a passionate and experienced qualified Social Worker committed to improving the lives of young people as they transition into adulthood. As Team Manager for Leaving Care, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team of personal advisors, ensuring that care leavers receive the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to thrive.

You will bring tenacity, empathy, and strong leadership to a role that places relationships and outcomes at its heart. With experience in managing teams within a Leaving Care or Through Care environment, you will play a key role in driving service improvements, shaping practice, and maintaining high performance through effective monitoring and supportive supervision. Your ability to motivate, guide, and nurture your team will ensure that both staff and young people achieve their full potential.

Working within Children’s Services and reporting to Head of Service Corporate Parenting, you will act as a critical link between strategic leadership and frontline practice. You will interpret and communicate across all levels, championing best practice and creating a positive, collaborative environment within a multi-agency setting. This is a role where your voice and influence matter—offering the opportunity to shape services, innovate, and contribute to a broader vision for young people’s futures.

You will join a supportive team with a strong professional culture and a shared commitment to achieving meaningful outcomes. Manageable caseloads allow for purposeful, relationship-based work, while access to resources and decision-makers enables timely, coordinated support for young people. The collaborative nature of the organisation creates exceptional opportunities for partnership working and system-wide influence.

Above all, this role offers the chance to make a genuine difference. If you are passionate about maximising life chances, driven by values, and motivated by seeing young people succeed, this is an opportunity to lead with purpose in an environment that is ambitious, well-supported, and committed to continuous improvement.
