Job Overview
The States of Jersey Police are looking for someone to join a small team of four who respond to vetting requests from within the island and beyond. The vetting unit will check information held on individuals who want to work in regulated activity, with children and vulnerable adults or in any other position that requires a background check. This information is then graded against nationally agreed criteria and an initial decision on whether to disclose the information is made.
The information viewed will include sensitive personal data of those being vetted and therefore, the highest levels of integrity are required.
We are looking for an individual with the ability to research a number of electronic data bases, identify relevant material and assess the same against set criteria. Evidence of decision making, attention to detail, rational thinking and report writing would be beneficial. A good standard of verbal and written English is required.
The post is situated within the police station and as such, will require the individual and close members of their family to undergo a security vetting process.
For an informal chat about the post please contact the Force Vetting Manager Marina Cabot on 01534 612315.
