Job Overview
We are on a mission to recruit new tutors for Adult and Community Education (ACE). Adult education teachers are important advocates for instilling skills and confidence in adults who wish to engage in further learning, advance skills to gain employment or simply improve wellbeing and social inclusion.
We are particularly interested in applications from people experienced in teaching Upholstery, Dance and Exercise, Yoga, Music, Basic Carpentry, Baking, Breadmaking, Memory Quilting, Floristry and British Sign Language but would also welcome applications from those with expertise in other areas.
We run adult education classes currently at Highlands College and at the Philip Mourant Centre in Trinity. These roles are offered on a flexible and zero hours basis.
The successful applicant(s) will have excellent verbal and communication skills as well as the creativity to plan and deliver classes on the islands. It is not essential that the applicant holds a teaching qualification but a willingness to attend a 2 day train the trainer course is essential as a minimum.
For an informal discussion please call Amanda Berry on 01534 608638 or email ace@highlands.ac.uk.
Across the Jersey public service, the scope of our work means our people enjoy a wider range of opportunities – to work with recognised experts across teams, learn new skills and develop their careers. We actively look to recruit people from different backgrounds, with diverse perspectives. This creates a richer, more varied environment, where you’re exposed to new ideas, new ways of thinking and new opportunities, so you can develop an exciting and rewarding career.
Extraordinary, Everyday.
