Job Purpose

Do you want to help measure the cost of living in Jersey?

We are looking for fieldworkers for our Retail Prices Index, the headline measure of inflation or the “cost of living” in Jersey. Your main duties will be collecting prices for various goods and services from businesses around the Island. Every three months, prices are collected over a two-week period. During these two weeks hours are flexible: you can choose the number of hours you want, and collect prices when it suits you.

You must display a high degree of confidentiality and attention to detail. You must be self-motivated and organised as you will be expected to plan and manage your own time. Prices are collected electronically, so computer literacy is required. A driving licence and good Island knowledge would be advantageous but not essential. Full training will be provided.

If you’d like an informal chat about the role, please contact Rhianna Reynolds / James Marshall at r.reynolds@stats.je / j.marshall@stats.je
