In People Services we offer rich, rewarding and varied careers across the breadth of the Human Resources profession, including:

People Operations where we provide dedicated, departmentally focused operational end to end HR services. These span from recruitment support for managers as they seek to hire and onboard new joiners, complete vetting and security checks and issue contracts of employment. We conduct routine case resolution, restorative practice, providing trusted advice and guidance on all people matters through to HR business partnering and bespoke people projects. 

Employee Relations, Reward and Experience is great for people who enjoy policy work, research and analysis. It is where we create and manage our Codes of Conduct and associated People Policies; shape and develop our employment terms and conditions; manage pay and reward, including all negotiations and where we look after our important relationships with Trade Unions. We make sure roles are evaluated and graded fairly; we lead complex employment disputes and manage the risks associated with legal action, dealing with serious investigations and tribunals.

Organisation Development (OD) where we build positive psychological engagement with our people through bespoke OD interventions, surveys and recognition events and help to deliver organisation effectiveness through organisation design and development. You could work in Talent Acquisition, workforce planning, intelligence and analysis; on Talent programmes such as Internships, Apprenticeships. Or, if you have a passion for Learning and Skills, designing and delivering great learning solutions could be for you. We also shape our strategies and policies using insights from our  diversity, equity and inclusion networks.

Corporate Services is a great place for people who have analytical, statistical and innovative IT skills that are anchored in business services to thrive. It is the home of our HR Systems Improvement team; HR data reporting and analytics team and where we manage governance and strategy, including business continuity. Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Wellbeing all form part of our Corporate Services offer, as does Soft Facilities Management and from where we manage key worker housing.
