Treasury and Exchequer

Have you always enjoyed numbers but want to work on something real that feels related to your life on the island?

Working in the Treasury department in the Government of Jersey, you can see the figures we work with delivering great projects that make a real difference to Islanders such as the new healthcare facilities, the skatepark and new schools, and the impact good financial management has on these projects. This gives our people a real sense of pride in their work and feeling of belonging to a much wider team and contributing to improvements to the place you live and your loved ones lives.

The Treasury and Exchequer department consists of Finance, Revenue Jersey, Commercial Services, and Risk and Assurance, and we have a diverse range of responsibilities.

Working in finance doesn’t mean grey suits and calculators – the Treasury department is transforming, helping to modernise the way we deliver public services and advising ministers and colleagues on how to balance the books and make informed choices about how they spend public money and achieve value for money.

We’re more than number crunchers so we need a range of skills, from negotiating, customer service, policy and economics, law or business to accountancy and tax. So, whatever your background, if you’re committed to public service and want to have a positive impact in your community -  we’ve got a role to suit you.

We believe work-life balance is critical to getting the very best from our people. The Treasury couldn’t be a more diverse or supportive place to work, and we offer flexible roles in terms of where and when you work. We are also a great place to undertake your studies – and we offer excellent opportunities to gain Tax, Accountancy, Investments, Commercial or Governance qualifications.
