Ambitious projects that shape our Island

- Channel Islands ferry contract negotiations
- Jersey Opera House renovation

Strengthening Jersey’s global reputation
Playing a crucial role in overseeing and promoting the Island's financial sector, our team develop and implement policies that support the growth and sustainability of our financial services industry. While maintaining high standards of integrity and transparency, we promote Jersey as a leading international financial centre, working to attract new businesses and investments to the Island.
Our team, which has a strong legal background, collaborates with financial institutions, industry associations, and government bodies, to maintain a robust financial economy for the Island.
Local Economy+
Driving growth and innovation for our communities
Key to Island life, our team looks after the economies that are true to our heritage – fisheries, agriculture and tourism. We develop and implement policies aimed at enhancing the local economy, including initiatives that support business growth and innovation.
Our team collaborates with various stakeholders, including local chambers of commerce, industry groups, and other Jersey Public Service departments, to create a supportive ecosystem for local enterprises. Our Sector Leads and Officers engage with local communities to understand their needs and challenges, ensuring that economic initiatives align with community interests and priorities. The team also work collaboratively with a wide variety of Arms Length Bodies to support the delivery of Ministerial priorities.
Digital Economy+
Leading Jersey’s technological transformation
Developing and implementing strategies to enhance Jersey's digital economy, our team focuses on innovation, technology adoption, and digital infrastructure. We formulate policies and regulations that foster a secure and conducive environment for digital business operations while ensuring compliance with international standards. We also aim to position Jersey as a leader in the digital space, promoting a thriving ecosystem that benefits the local economy and community.
Economics+
Informing policy through insight and analysis
Carrying out economic analysis and research on various economic indicators, trends, and sectors, our team informs policy decisions and strategic planning. Through the Future Economy Programme, we develop evidence-based economic policies aimed at enhancing Jersey's economic resilience, growth, and competitiveness in both local and international markets.
The team contributes to long-term economic strategies, helping to shape the future direction of Jersey’s economy and ensuring it remains vibrant and sustainable. Our team also provides advice to leaders and policymakers across the civil service on economic matters, ensuring that decisions are informed by robust economic analysis.
Business Management & Governance+
Ensuring excellence in delivery
Behind the scenes, our team ensures effective management and governance practices across the department’s initiatives and operations. Experienced in finance, risk, data protection, and project management, we provide the structure and oversight needed to deliver impactful outcomes for the Island and our community.
