Job Overview
As a Financial Intelligence Support Officer in Jersey’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including supporting the intelligence officers and analysts in managing the receipt, analysis, development and dissemination of financial intelligence and data obtained from Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and other relevant data and intelligence partners and sources. You may also be responsible for providing domestic and international support to cross government, inter agency and international partnerships as well as providing intelligence assessments and analysis to numerous partners for criminal, judicial or regulatory investigation and action. Your work will focus on money laundering and its associated predicate offences, terrorist financing and proliferation financing both nationally and globally.
We are looking for a range of candidates with traits such as enthusiasm, inquisitiveness, an interest in research and writing being key. Other interest areas such as international relations, intelligence and security, technology and similar are also great skills to have. Similalrly, some experience in industry, be that banking, trust or fund sector or the legal and accountancy sectors are helpful. But it's not all about qualifications and experience, the illicit finance world is complex and large, so we need the right attitude that compliment the team and demonstrates strong public sector ethics.
Jersey's FIU became operationally independent in 2023 and is currently undergoing a full scale transformation to be a suitable and high performing agency that is relevant to Jersey and its position as a world leading International Finance Centre. As part of this change proccess, the FIU is instigating necessary and operationally relevant capabilities and seeking to use technology, partnerships and appropriate training to drive effective delivery of intelligence insight.
