You’ll find countless opportunities to learn, develop and grow a rewarding career where we recognises the importance of your personal and professional well-being. By considering moving internally across the Public Service, you'll be proud of what you can achieve – both for yourself and the people of Jersey.

Job Overview

A vocation not just a qualification … for graduates, school leavers and career changers.

The Government of Jersey are looking to develop our future finance leaders.

Trainees on our scheme have the chance to complete their chartered accountancy qualification (ACCA) while gaining interesting and varied experience from across the government’s Treasury and Exchequer department.

You will receive a competitive salary, one-to-one mentoring, and the opportunity to work in an interesting and flexible environment.

You will receive full support during your studies and will follow a long-term career progression plan, with salary increases and promotions as you pass examinations and develop your experience.

Trainees are assigned work tasks which support their development as an accountant and a future leader of the organisation, as well as providing vital support across the team. You will have the opportunity to carry out hands on work from the outset of your appointment as a trainee accountant, and be given increasingly higher responsibilities as you progress through the qualification, so that at the end of the programme you are ready to secure a role as a qualified accountant in the department.
