Job Overview

Gynaecology Outpatient is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic healthcare assistant. Gynaecology Outpatient provide a range of different specialities, such as colposcopy, early pregnancy and general gynaecology. The post holder will mostly be allocated to provide general gynaecology clinics. Rayner OPD is opened Monday to Friday; however, in some occasions we also work Saturday AM. Job Purpose

The post holder will contribute and participate in care delivery for gynaecology patients, mainly assisting doctors when providing clinic. The post holder will need to get clinic ready while chaperoning and assisting with the equipment necessary.

 

Qualifications

Possession of NVQ level 2 

The post holder will maintain a NVQ Portfolio which demonstrates the continuing acquisition of skills, knowledge, attitudes, understanding and achievement.

Knowledge

Gynaecology experience is not essential; however, experience working with adults and young people is needed. Training and support will be given by Rayner OPD staff. The post holder will do some sessions with nurses prior working independently. 

General skills / attributes

The post holder will function effectively as a member of the nursing team and contribute to the achievement of team goals.

 

The post holder will seek opportunities to develop knowledge and skills and will participate constructively in the Performance Review and Appraisal process.

Experience

 

Experience in health care setting 

Excellent communication and team working skills 

Basic keyboard skills desirable
