Job Overview
This role will be Predominately based at Hospital Supplies Five Oaks, however from time to time you may be required to work offsite at the General Hospital.
You will be required to support the purchasing officers with supply managed inventory stoke lines, and supporting a centralised purchasing function responsible for ordering medical goods on behalf of multiple care groups.
The post holder will work largely on their own initiative and will only refer to the Deputy Operations Manager in cases where there are queries which cannot be dealt with by themselves.

A knowledge of medical products and purchasing systems would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
Job Purpose
Working in a busy environment as part of a purchasing team, to purchase/supply goods and services using a procurement system that will directly contribute to the overall healthcare delivery provided by the Government of Jersey.
Statutory Responsibilities
Active engagement, participation, and compliance with any other statutory responsibilities applicable to the role, as amended from time to time.
Job Specific Outcomes
- To work with the deputy operations manager to provide a value for money, professional service to both government and non-government departments.
- To manage a range of inventory items on a purchasing system including pricing, volumes and supplier information.
- To provide advice and information to customers on products and prices and deal with any queries from both customers and suppliers.
- To contact suppliers regarding damage/discrepancies to arrange for replacement stock or credit documentation.
- To assist the deputy operations manager with the adding and amending stock lines and addressing any stock discrepancies on the system.
- Adhere to a high standard of hygiene, security and health and safety within the working environment always.
- Communicate with the Government of Jersey Accounts Department in resolving and ensuring supplier payments are received in a timely manner.
- Oversee the day to day running of the customs website.
- Prepare all sale order requestions using the stock management system.

GCSE or above in Mathematics would be desirable. |
Knowledge

Knowledge of medical terminology and previous experience of computerised purchasing systems would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided.
